Ok let me start off with….I have no baby.
Now that is out of the way…maybe I should clarify.
I didn’t use these baby products on an actual baby – unless you count my right thigh as a baby – its probably bigger than a baby ugh no more thigh talk.
However I did use them myself and for my family – aka the big babies!
I tend to use some products that are actually meant for babies because of the sensitive skin factor in our home and when LIVE CLEAN sent me this I figured lets not let it go to waste.
So although I didn’t have a baby to try out Live Clean Baby Perfume Free Tearless Shampoo & Wash I did try it out on my family’s sensitive skin and the results are in!
First off lets just start with some stuff from LIVE CLEAN baby:
Clinically tested, mild formula gently cleanses while softening skin without drying
Made with purified water; enriched with Certified Organic Botanicals and Essential Oil of Apricot
Petroleum, Paraben and Phthalate free
SLS/Sulfate free; DEA free
Never tested on animals
OK cool i like all this – it gives me a happy feelings and tells me I’m using something that is good for ‘baby’ and the earth.
The packaging is not only recyclable but ADORABLE! Who doesn’t like little duckies.
This bottle will cost you about $6.99 for 300 mL available at Walmart.
Now when I got this the first thing I did was smell it
- because I wanted to check if it was actually scent free
- because that’s what I do with body stuff
To my surprise it DID have a scent – hrmmmmmm what gives?
Not that it’s a bad scent its actually quite fresh with hints of citrus and I really enjoyed using it.
Perfume free? Fragrance free? Unscented? What exactly does this mean?
This is what I learned: Fragrance, or Parfum as it’s called in Canadian labeling, is the name given to a scenting agent that’s added to products. These scenting agents are often the cause of skin irritation among the more sensitive skinned babies and families. Live Clean Baby Perfume Free Tearless Shampoo & Wash is made without scenting agents.
But seriously what is the smell then?
- Natural extracts of apricot, rosewood, orange peel, vanilla and grapefruit peel
The scent is in no way overpowering and its very light and refreshing, I used it on my shower scrubby (be careful the wash is kind of runny and comes out fast) and got a good lather and it left my skin feeling fresh and rinses clean.
I didn’t use this on my hair, well because lets be honest my hair
is a beast needs its own kind of loving – but I would imagine on a sweet little baby head of hair it would be just perfect!
My overall impression of Live Clean Baby Perfume Free Tearless Shampoo & Wash was positive and I think this would be a lovely baby shower gift or to any Mama with little people paired with other live clean baby products like the Live Clean Baby Perfume Free Baby Lotion which I also tried and was awesome.
